When to book

Before the season, not during it

Contractors get busy once summer and winter come, so ENERGY STAR recommends checking the cooling system in the spring and the heating system in the fall.

Maintenance and coil cleaning

Get the outdoor coil cleaned

The outdoor coil collects dirt over the years. That dirt reduces airflow and insulates the coil, and dirty coils make the system run longer, increasing energy costs and reducing the life of the equipment.

What we do, and what you can do
  • Condenser coil cleaning is one of our maintenance services.
  • Between visits, keep debris away from the unit (dryer vents, falling leaves, and lawn mowers are common sources) and trim plants back at least 2 feet.

Tankless water heaters

Flush it once a year

A tankless water heater has a heat exchanger that needs to be flushed and cleaned every year. Minerals in the water build up inside it, and manufacturers call for flushing that buildup out at least once a year.

Does mine need it more often?

Possibly. The harder your water, the higher the temperature setting, and the more hot water your home uses, the more often it needs descaling.

Garrett did a great job! He cleaned the furnace, fixed a leak at the water heater and did maintenance and cleaning on the ac unit. He was very thorough and explained things clearly. Very good experience and the price was reasonable.

Ian, Eddie, the entire crew are fantastic! They installed a new system at my mom’s … house, have been out a few times for routine service. They are prompt, reliable and super kind to her! I can’t possibly say enough good things about them!

Steve came out to replace the blower motor in our unit today and got the job done right. He went above and beyond to double check the unit before taking off to make sure everything was running efficiently. I would highly recommend this company.

FAQ

Maintenance questions

How often should my system be serviced?

Once a year, before its season: cooling in the spring and heating in the fall. A heat pump or mini split does both jobs, so it gets checked before each season.

How often should I change my filter?

Check it every month, especially in winter and summer. If it looks dirty after a month, change it, and change it at least every 3 months. Mini split filters should be cleaned when they look dirty or the filter light comes on.

Is a tune-up worth it if the system seems fine?

ENERGY STAR compares it to a tune-up for your car: a yearly tune-up of your heating and cooling system can improve efficiency and comfort.
